“Waiting for Godot” is a famous two-act play by Samuel Beckett. It’s considered in various forms because it raises so many questions from practical, realistic and/or metaphysical perspectives; much of which can be found in Wikipedia’s information on the play, the characters and the author!
If you are familiar with the play, then you might wonder how making same the basis for inspiration and encouragement could possibly be practical. For Godot never appears. It’s a waiting game for the main characters.
The same is true for many women in real life.. We desire something – it’s been promised to us (or so we think), so we wait. And wait and wait. All to no avail!
I’m an observer of life, others and mainly myself. All too often one of two things occur:
1. We get a glimpse of our destiny and sit back waiting for it to happen. As if we have no part in bringing it to life.
2. We take just the opposite approach and rush out attempting to make it happen. In our rush to bring it to life; we impede the natural course of unfolding in PAPA’s timing. And most of us know what happens when we do that!
The beauty of divine inspiration (is there really any other kind worth mentioning?) is in the unfolding. In the process-not the outcome. TWEET THIS
While the outcome brings about the deep satisfaction of promises fulfilled and hard work acknowledged; the process is where our development, maturity and wisdom are born. Without such, we will miss what truly is the ultimate gift of a divine promise.
Remember, in divine promise, there is a rhythm. An ebb and flow. A time to move and pursue. A time to wait and reflect. The challenge for us is to stay the course; listen as we do and take our cues from that which inspires us to move and encourages us to be still. . .
So as the day moves on, let us be limber in our responses. And let our hearts be open to the nuances that will lead our way!
