Heart and soul. How much is it worth?
Commerce is built on a number of things – all of which are important. Many build on a desire to stockpile a large monetary fortune. Others build on a desire for fame – being known for their business prowess and creative mind. Still others start with altruism in mind but quickly resort to it being about either fortune or fame – or both.
Then there are those who build because it flows from their heart and soul.
It is their destiny – and they know it! It is what they are designed to do and they pursue it with every fiber of their being.
Those who build for purely financial or fame are prone to poke fun at the altruistic who pour heart and soul into anything they undertake. Yet it is the heart and soul folks who most likely come out ahead – in the long term.
Well it was to respond based on what the world calls “prosperity”. From the Warren Buffet and Sir Richard Branson perspective; the answer would be a resounding “NO”. Yet the word “prosper” means so much more than how many numbers constitute our net worth. Some of the least “prosperous” folks in the world’s view are prospering in ways that the the world’s wealthiest would consider hogwash! Even the dictionary defines the words “prosper” and “prosperity” with a financial aspect – “to thrive or flourish, especially in financial respects”. Perhaps that too – is hogwash!
Bottom line! I responded to Paola’s question with a “YES!” While my prosperity doesn’t rest on financial wealth – it does reside in the heart and soul of my entire life. Family and friends whose love and care I cherish. A tight relationship with PAPA; His Son and Spirit. A creative mind and intellect I know – beyond a shadow of a doubt, is gift from above.
And the opportunity to know what I’m called to do. And the opportunity to do it, pouring heart and soul into it. What really makes for prosperity from the business side of the ledger?
A team of women (and some men) who have the same sense of “prospering” and pour their heart and soul as well. Perhaps not as much as mine; but as much as is needed and necessary.
A cynical world will sneer at the heart and soul folks. “What will that get you”, I’ve been asked? And then there are those who want to know “why can’t I get it for free?” Hum, my time to sneer!
I’m thinking that it all comes down to why can’t we have both? Why can’t we work from the heart and soul – answering the call of our destiny; AND prosper financially as well? After all, when our heart and soul destiny adds to our net worth; the heart and soul folks are the most likely to give back.
And give back in ways that not only support others financially – but give them a hand up so they too can prosper – financially!
So how much is “heart and soul” worth? After all heart and soul are the heart and soul of women. And when women in small business give of themselves in pursuit of a God-given destiny, pouring all they have into creating prosperity for others. . .
It’s worth it’s weight in gold!
What do you think?
What is prosperity to you?
Are you living a prosperous life?
Are you pouring heart and soul into your destiny?
Would you say your heart and soul is worth it’s weight in gold?
