Becoming a Woman of BOLD Confidence….Celebrating the Journey!

I’ve never so excited about a blog series like this one!  Why do I say that?  Because I believe we are the cusp of some amazing things about to transpire here at NEIGHBORHOOD BOUTIQUES and, at the same time, I’m experiencing a powerful breakthrough in my own personal life and business as well.Be bold & confident

If that’s happening for us, then I have a strong feeling that many of you reading this now could very well be on the edge of something great in your own life.

With that said, now is NOT the time to sit back and take anything lightly…a BOLD statement!  The key to explosive growth…whether it be personally or professionally is the word “MOMENTUM”!   Once that big ball is bouncing, it’s critical to keep it moving.

Now that I’ve that little “pep talk”…it’s time for me to share a bit of personal revelation regarding the importance of having BOLD Confidence.  But before I do, let me tell you what a fabulous day I had yesterday.  It started earlier than has been my “new normal”!

I raised my children…all FOUR of them…while working full-time outside the home…and then some years later, while two were not quite grown and on their own…I had the opportunity to launch out in my entrepreneurial pursuits.   In those days, it was always “early to bed, early to rise”!  Not sure how much “wiser” it made me but I still look back in sheer wonderment at how they all turned out so well despite me!

Life is great at 65!Now I’ll explain why it was such a wonderful day!  I celebrated my 65th year of life on Planet Earth!  As I mentioned, I woke up much earlier than I’ve been doing lately…I suppose because I was excited about what adventures the day would bring.  Yes, I still love surprises!

I made the pot of coffee and savored that first fresh cup while reading my favorite daily devotional, “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young.  The June 4th message focused on the importance of PEACE in our lives!

As I sat there at my kitchen table with the cool breeze blowing and the sounds of morning rushing in through the window, I simply closed my eyes and basked in God’s presence, reflecting on His Goodness!

As the day progressed, it was apparent that I just needed to “go with the flow” as phone calls, texts and Facebook greetings from my children, friends, business and ministry partners rolled in.   In the early afternoon my son-in-law brought my grandchildren by to deliver a handwritten card and gift…icing on the cake!  And then more “icing”…received a pic via Facebook from my 25 yr. old grandson from southern Virginia… a brand-new daddy…yes, I am now a GREAT-really Great-Grandmother of Brayden James Sanders.  My grandson, holding HIS son with a poster card wishing me a Happy Birthday!  Needless to say, this Nana was weeping happy tears of joy!

Later in the day, my daughter first…and then my son…who both live near, stopped by with love gifts.  And, to top it all off…I have an amazing husband who loves me unconditionally!  It just doesn’t get much better than this…I am one very blessed woman!

So I’m still celebrating…it’s a journey, this gift each of us has been given.  One day at a time…often, one moment at a time.

Yesterday was a result of many years of cultivating strong, bonded relationships.  That’s the REAL stuff life is made of…seeding into the lives of others…and believing I can make a difference…whether big or small.

Every day crowns us....It was also a somewhat “bittersweet” day, as over the years I’d had expectations of where I would be at this juncture, especially on a professional level..much farther down the road.   Admittedly, there have been lots of “twists and turns… and yes, even some slight detours.  Everyone has them!   But guess what?  I’m still HERE!!!  And I continue to press on, because I know that I have a destiny to fulfill.

I’ve seen glimpses of what the future holds…and I am more determined than ever to press through to what is on the horizon.  Part of that “puzzle piece” is teaching on how to be BOLD and confident in your own daily walk.  Next week I’ll begin the process of  how to create that kind of BOLD mindset…so hang on tight….it’s bound to be a wild ride!

Remember, it’s a JOURNEY, not a destination!
